June 29, 2009 — Ladybug

Am running out of things to take pictures of!  Apparently there are not 365 interesting things in my life.  Heh. This is a ladybug bouncy thing that hangs from the light fixture in our “dining room”.  That’s in quotes because it really is more of a storage room for all my scrapbooking stuff. The ladybug was a gift from Mom.

June 28, 2009 — Cold

Charissa wanted to play outside, but decided it was just too cold. So, she put on her Aunt GG’s coat and proceeded to roll around on the grass. Notice how she has tucked in most of her skin, in an effort to keep warm. Silly turtle.

June 27, 2009 — Weathervane

Mom gave us this weathervane a few years ago, and she is currently next to the front porch (the weathervane, not Mom).  She doesn’t really move much with the wind, but I think she’s pretty. The weather has aged the colors, giving her a more interesting look, at least to me.

June 26, 2009 — Closet

One of my goals for 2009 is to get my house more organized.  To that end, I am working on cleaning out this closet under the stairs. My eventual plan is to use it for storage of all our holiday decorations. It’s not entirely clean yet, but this is a good start. It was totally crammed with miscellaneous boxes and junk – now at least there’s a place to start.

June 25, 2009 — Flags

A patriotic tree!  Lynn came by and decorated the tree for the upcoming July 4th holiday. A lovely silver garland combined with red/white/blue stars and, or course, tiny American flags.

June 24, 2009 — Pandy

I received Pandy as a present for my very first Christmas, which makes this guy almost 52 years old. He sat in the place of honor at my parents’ house, with his little scarf for a cushion and with his M&M’s, a candy cane and some jelly beans in case he wanted a snack. After Mom moved up to Washington, he was bequeathed to me and he has been left just as he was. He’s my Pandy.

June 23, 2009 — Dragon

The local restaurant where I get my Chinese food fix. It’s pretty basic and not spicy, but that’s how I like it.  Give me Pineapple or Almond Chicken, Fried Rice and BBQ Pork and I’m a happy camper.

June 22, 2009 — Berries

My blueberry bush.  It’s about the only thing I manage to grow  successfully around here, and I manage that by leaving it totally alone. I have the exact opposite of a green thumb.

June 21, 2009 — Copter

So, today was Father’s Day.  As a treat to the big guy, we went down to the Olympia Air Show.  Mom had seen it advertised in her newspaper and told us about it.  Since Lester enjoys planes and other guy-stuff like that, I thought it would be a perfect outing (and we could combine it with a quick visit to see Mom). Well, it was a very fun time. We parked the car in a field by the airport and watched the first few exhibitions, then walked over to the airfield and went on the site for more activities and exhibits. This helicopter was one of the highlights – apparently there is something special about the rotors (like the number and/or types of them). All in all, a good day.

June 20, 2009 — Damien

Stopped by Katie and Joey’s today, and snapped this quick pic of Damien (grandson). He’s usually a happy guy, but there was some arguing going on at the moment with Charissa (typical sibling stuff), so he was not in a great mood here. He sure does look like his dad, though.
